Radiography
This 18-month full-time program leads to certification in the field of diagnostic radiography. Nowhere is this technical sophistication more evident than in the equipment and techniques utilized in radiographic imaging. If you have a strong background in math and science, this program will prepare you for a career as a medical radiographer. Graduates are eligible to take the national certification examinations.

Capitalizing on our exceptional resources, you will receive unparalleled training on state-of-the-art equipment. You will obtain firsthand, clinical experience in radiologic procedures at several of our facilities, as well as other clinical facilities throughout the Baltimore metropolitan region: The Johns Hopkins Hospital, The Johns Hopkins Hospital Outpatient Center, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Northwest Hospital, American Radiology Services at Annapolis, White Marsh and Timonium Crossing.

Nuclear Medicine
This 14-month, full-time program leads to certification in nuclear medicine technology. Combining theoretical training in principles of medical imaging with practical, hands-on clinical experience, our program will prepare students with a strong background in math, chemistry and other sciences for a career as a nuclear medicine technologist.

You will have the opportunity to learn about routine diagnostic examinations, SPECT and PET imaging, radiopharmacy, in-vitro procedures, and therapeutic applications --- in one of the top diagnostic laboratories in the United States. Graduates are eligible to take national certification examinations.

To ensure that you receive the most comprehensive clinical education possible, you will train at several of our facilities: The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Franklin Square Hospital Center, Saint Agnes Hospital, Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Union Memorial Hospital, American Radiology Services (ARS), and Syncor International.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography
This 14-month, full-time program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography will provide you with firsthand clinical experience in a broad range of both routine and highly specialized ultrasound procedures -- in one of the largest and most dynamic labs in the country.

Training includes a thorough familiarization with routine diagnostic exams as well as additional concentration in specific areas such as: high-risk obstetrics, abdominal, small parts imaging, gynecology, pediatrics, and neurosonology. Specialties also include all aspects of spectral color, power color Doppler (peripheral, cerebral, and abdominal), endocavity imaging, intraoperative, and intraventional ultrasound. Graduates are eligible to take national certification examinations.

To ensure that you receive the most comprehensive clinical education possible, you will train at several of our facilities: The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center, Johns Hopkins Maternal/Fetal Diagnostic Center, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Franklin Square Hospital Center, Good Samaritan Vascular Laboratory, Union Memorial Vascular Laboratory, and Sinai Hospital of Baltimore.

Computed Tomography (CT)
This 6-month program is an advanced specialty course intended for radiographers who desire specific training in Computed Tomography. Upon entering this highly technical field, you will gain a thorough understanding of the physical principle upon which it is based -- a knowledge of anatomy from a cross sectional perspective. And you will receive extensive clinical training in one of the largest cross sectional imaging divisions in the country.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
This 6-month program is an advanced specialty course intended for radiographers and nuclear medicine technologists who desire specific training in Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Upon entering this highly technical field, you will gain a thorough understanding of the physical principle upon which it is based -- a knowledge of anatomy from a cross sectional perspective. And you will receive extensive clinical training in one of the largest cross sectional imaging divisions in the country.

Mammography
This 10-week, full-time program is an advanced specialty course intended for radiographers who desire specific training in mammography. The curriculum is based on the recommendations from the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. The course lecture content, when combined with the clinical components of the course, will cover all necessary requirements for the MQSA.

This program will allow you to gain all clinical competencies necessary to complete the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists requirements to sit for the certification boards for mammography. In addition to mammography training, you will receive classroom instruction and clinical training in bone densitometry. You will also rotate through clinical sites at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins at Greenspring Station.

Interventional Cardiovascular
This 6-month training program is intended for radiographers who desire specific training in Interventional Cardiovascular procedures. Upon acceptance into the program, you will experience the exciting world of Special procedures through on site, clinical, and didactic training. You will gain a thorough understanding of the anatomical and physiological workings of the cardiovascular system, as well as learn the highly technical aspects of advanced imaging.

Notre Dame Cooperative Program
Through a cooperative program, the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and The Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Medical Imaging offer a bachelor of science degree and certification in radiological sciences.
